David Jepson

  • DAVID JEPSON became Artistic Director of the Renaissance City Theatre, Inc. of the Granite Theatre in the fall of 2000.  He was the founder and Artistic Director of City Nights Dinner Theatre.  His company began as a production entity that brought theatre to such restaurants as The New Farm Supper Club, the El Morocco, the West Valley Inn, the Villa DiGiorgio and the Coachman Restaurant before finally settling for 18 years in Pawtucket.  There, he and his wife Beth, operated City Nights for 18 years while also producing shows for The Granite Theatre.  With the success at The Granite David found a buyer for City Nights so he and his wife could devote their full energies to the new theatre.  David and Beth relocated to Westerly over 14 years ago. David has been involved in theatre for over fifty years and has produced over 3000 performances of more than 250 major shows.  From 1978 to 1980 he received federal grants for a project he conceived – working with economically disadvantaged young people.  David has appeared in over 150 shows that have included CAESAR AND CLEOPATRA, ROMEO AND JULIET, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, 1776, THE, CHAPTER TWO, SAME TIME NEXT YEAR, THE RAINMAKER, IT HAD TO BE YOU and WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?.   David has directed over 200 productionsthat have included OUR TOWN, LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS, LAUGHTER ON THE 23RD FLOOR, STEEL MAGNOLIAS, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, ANNIE, THE PRISONER OF SECOND AVENUE, THE ODD COUPLE, RUMORS, SYLVIA, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS, GYPSY, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, MY FAIR LADY, ON GOLDEN POND, THE DIXIE SWIM CLUB, MOONLIGHT & MAGNOLIAS, BLITHE SPIRIT and DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS as well as his critically acclaimed one-man show adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL.  He has also directed Broadway producer David Black in his one-man show FALLING OFF BROADWAY.

Beth Jepson

    BETH JEPSON is the Associate Artistic Director for the Renaissance City Theatre, Inc. of the Granite Theatre and has been involved with theatre since her high school days. She made her debut as the performing partner of future husband David Jepson twenty-six years ago in a moving, bittersweet performance as “Chelsea” in ON GOLDEN POND.  She went on to star in OUR TOWN, FORTY CARATS, IT HAD TO BE YOU, WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?, STEEL MAGNOLIAS and MOON OVER BUFFALO.  Beth has worked with numerous other regional theatres both as an actress and director.  Some of her directorial credits include LITTLE MARY SUNSHINE, 1776, PIPPIN, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, SOUTH PACIFIC, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, THE FANTASTICKS, DAMN YANKEES, GUYS AND DOLLS, BYE BYE BIRDIE and TOM JONES.  Beth has enjoyed performing with other regional groups and some of her favorite productions include THE ROYAL FAMILY, THE CHILDREN’S HOUR, BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE, SOCIAL SECURITY, ANASTASIA, THREE PENNY OPERA and CHAPTER TWO.  While at The Granite Theatre she has starred in SOCIAL SECURITY, RUMORS, IT’S ONLY A PLAY, SYLVIA, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, GETTING & SPENDING, BLITHE SPIRIT, DIXIE SWIM CLUB, A NICE FAMILY GATHERING, FOX ON THE FAIRWAY, HALLELUJAH GIRLS, OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS, BERMUDA AVENUE TRIANGLE, MOON OVER BUFFALO, and IT HAD TO BE YOU.
